چکیده

| In this paper, we describe models and algorithms designed to produce eecient and physically consistent dynamic simulations. These models and algorithms have been implemented in a unique framework, modeling both deformations and contacts through visco-elastic relations. Since this model of interaction (known as \penalty based") is much debated, we present a detailed study of this model. Indeed, the \penalty" based model is supposed to have two major drawbacks :-determining the visco-elastic parameters and-choosing the computation time step. We present a solution for both problems based on physical concepts. Finally, we will present results comparing real data, \impulse" based simulation and \penalty" based simulation. Towards Time-Critical Collision Detection for Deformable Objects Based on Reduced Models

Topics of physically based modeling of deformable objects and collision detection have been extensively researched. Please refer to [1, 2, 3] for recent surveys. Nowadays, the combination of GPU techniques and multiresolution physical models [4] allows interactive simulations of complex deformable objects with a large number of polygons. To achieve this, the geometry of the object is separated ...

Multiscale Multiphysic Mixed Geomechanical Model for Deformable Porous Media Considering the Effects of Surrounding Area

Porous media of hydro-carbon reservoirs is influenced from several scales. Effective scales of fluid phases and solid phase are different. To reduce calculations in simulating porous hydro-carbon reservoirs, each physical phenomenon should be assisted in the range of its effective scale. The simulating with fine scale in a multiple physics hydro-carbon media exceeds the current computational ca...

BucketTree: Improving Collision Detection Between Deformable Objects

In recent years, thanks to the increasing computational power available, real time computer animation has naturally evolved to model more complex and computationally expensive scenes. Consequently, all the problems concerning physical modelling need further research to tackle these new requirements, especially the problem of collision detection for deformable objects. Most existing solutions ca...

Using Task Symmetry for Human-Robot Collaborative Manipulation of Deformable Objects Without Modeling Deformation

I. INTRODUCTION We present a symmetry-based method that allows humans and robots to collaboratively manipulate deformable objects. The method does not require modeling and simulating deformation. Our method is based on the concept of diminishing rigidity, which we use to quickly compute an approximation to the Jacobian of the deformable object without using simulation. This Jacobian is used to ...

Autonomous and Human-Robot Collaborative Manipulation of 1D and 2D Deformable Objects Without Modeling Deformation

We present a method that allows both autonomous and human-robot collaborative manipulation of deformable objects. The method does not require modeling and simulating deformation. Our method is based on the concept of diminishing rigidity, which we use to quickly compute an approximation to the Jacobian of the deformable object without using simulation. This Jacobian is used to drive the points ...
